Useful Excel Functions for Engineers Designing eVTOL Drones

Useful Excel Functions for Engineers Designing eVTOL Drones

Here are some Excel functions that may be useful for engineers designing electric Vertical Take-Off and Landing (eVTOL) drones:

  1. Solver: to optimize parameters in a model. For example, to determine the optimal motor and battery size to achieve the desired flight time.
  2. SUMPRODUCT: to perform conditional calculations across multiple arrays. For example, to calculate the total power consumption of the drone based on different flight conditions.
  3. SUMIFS: to sum values based on multiple conditions. For example, to calculate the total energy consumption of the drone based on different flight modes and wind speeds.
  4. MIN/MAX: to find the minimum and maximum values in a data set. For example, to determine the minimum and maximum battery capacity required for different flight scenarios.
  5. ROUND: to round values to a specified number of decimal places. For example, to round the battery capacity to the nearest 10mAh.

But…

Why spend all this time learning various functions for a tool that just isn’t adequate for doing complex engineering?

Why not use a tool that’s made by engineers, for engineers?
