Preface
I’d like to express my sincerest gratitude to those who have shown an interest in my paper, “A Dialogue on the Digitization of Requirements, Verification, and Test Management with Data-Driven Systems Engineering (DDSE)”, presented during the International Astronautical Congress 2020.
This paper was written after the Advanced Workshop on Lean Requirements, Verification and Test-Management for Small Satellites, conducted virtually during the 34th annual Small Satellite Conference, moderated by Marco Witzmann, CEO & Co-Founder of Valispace, and Stefan Siarov, Systems Engineer & Marketing Manager at Valispace, on August 5, 2020.
The paper and recommendations arose as a result of the dialogue between the moderators and participants, hence the solutions proposed in this paper are specific and targeting the needs of the participants of the workshop. The top priorities of the participants were:
- Learning best practices
- Understanding the rationale of the parent requirement for requirement breakdown
- Ensuring the chosen verification method is adequate to verify a requirement
- Documentation for test management
However, these solutions do offer a degree of flexibility; elements of the solutions can be modified or partially adopted according to the needs of any organization.
